ABOUT US

Throughout lower school, girls perform on par with boys in science and math courses. And then something happens: as girls get closer to college, a gender gap in participation starts to appear. Girls take fewer of the more advanced STEM courses and competitions, and they tend to think less of themselves and their abilities.

The roots of this gender gap begin very early in age, with an implicit bias in our understanding of STEM careers. Our aim at Route to Success is to help close this gender gap. We target elementary, middle, and high school students, empowering girls to pursue science and math classes and careers. We host various events such as workshops, fundraisers, and competitions, targeting issues such as socioeconomic boundaries, education, and access to resources to empower and encourage girls in STEM,
